One stage even tasks you with completing it without the use of your weapons. Whereas Anniversary only had a handful of tropical island-themed levels, Reloaded contains over a dozen lengthy stages that feature a decent amount of variety. The biggest improvement in Reloaded is the fact that it contains a ton of stages. After all is said and done, it's the same game but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. This isn't anything new and even the aspects that you can upgrade are identical to the ones in Anniversary but it's still rewarding to enhance your ship to be an unstoppable force on the battlefield. As you play, you'll also acquire a wealth of stars that you can upgrade your ship with. That being said, the tight shmup gameplay where you juggle various tasks such as trying to shoot down every single enemy, rescue all the folks by hovering over them, and emerge unscathed is just as fun in 2017 as it was in 2016. However, upon realising that it's almost exactly the same game, I was quite disappointed. When I first started playing Sky Force Reloaded, I was hoping that it was merely reintroducing the player to the already established gameplay mechanics. Although Reloaded feels pretty much the same as last year's Sky Force Anniversary, does it offer enough new content to be a worthy sequel? When you boot up a sequel to a shoot 'em up, you expect some kind of innovative gameplay mechanics. Sky Force Reloaded is also available for Xbox One and Nintendo Switch Maciejewski playing a PS4 on December 3, 2017 Maybe you could give the idea a second thought.Reviewed by A.J. Infinite Dreams is well know between shmup players, and this "Sky Force online" could very likely be an instant sucess. and that there are hundreds of players out there that would love to quit Hawk and come back to a "Sky Force online".I am not making any money out of it, but your company certainly would. In short, what I'm telling you is that there is a niche for an online coop plane-based shmup (with an infinite story and progression system, like Hawk) being explored by a game company that has copied plenty of Sky Force features. all the details are available at Hawk's subreddit. Also, they have changed key features of the game and/or removed content players paid real money for. A lot of people complain about Hawk because the company behind it (my.com) has being doing a terrible job with their customer support. I know lots of players that spend tens of USD monthly buying in-game stuff in Hawk.and I assure you they would love to bring that money to a Sky Force online. Also, we always agreed that Sky Force could be the ultimate SHMUP if it could offer an online coop multiplayer, and an "infinite progression system", like Hawk.įrom what I have seen, there are hundreds of players that would love to spend their money in a quality game like Sky Force if it could have the same features offered by Hawk today (yes, I'm talking about in-game purchases). All of these guys agreed that they only left Sky Force because there was nothing else to accomplish after getting all medals. Not surprisingly, the majority of such players have played one or more games from the Sky Force series. I have been talking for months with players form the Hawk community (discord/reddit/fb). Unfortunately, they don't offer the same quality as SFR (by far). The point here is: Hawk is making a considerable sucess being a game with a lot of features copied directly from the Sky Force series (many planes, drones, rescues, power ups, cards, etc). At that time I was looking for something like SFR, and there were in-game Hawk ads quite often, then I gave it a try and it was a good surprise.Īs you said, Hawk is doing fine. I've been playing that game for a few months after having completed everything in SFR mobile. Thanks for the fast reply.Īctually, I'm not a Hawk hater. I'm sure if we added online multiplayer we'd have hundreds of complaints too ) As for Hawk itself, it's a pretty solid shoot'em up.
